'Twas the night before Audit, and all round the world, a business once worried was now unperturbed.
Content and process was now in control, with governance and technologies newly unfurled.
Users were trained on what they need do, by internal sources and through AIIM programs too.
CEO, CFO and CIO rap, the success of their efforts, each others backs did they slap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my cubicle to see what’s the matter.
Away to the doorstep I flew like a flash, to hear auditors’ focus, of us would they trash.
They entered the building and scoured the floors; well maintained records were found by the scores.
We use ECM, BPM, ERM and more! Compliance is vital, and our focus for sure.
We scan it, import it and index it all, then ensure that our process is consistent through all.
You’ve proven to us that compliance is true, Season’s Greetings we all do wish unto you.
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all! Auditors on to the next Port o Call
They sprang to their cars, turned left then turned right and I heard them exclaim, as they drove out of sight,
"This sure is one business who’s done it all right!"
I know, you are thinking I have hit the old eggnog early this year aren’t you. Not a bad idea, but no, I haven’t. I could have done something a little more traditional for my year end post like make predictions for 2010 citing that more consolidation is in the wind, technology will advance and that economic conditions will impact market growth and technology adoption but I chose a different route. I am no great poet and I thank Clement Clarke Moore for providing me with a lasting bit of verse that I modified for my own purposes.
This is a time when I like to reflect on the past year, slow down a bit, enjoy the closeness and love of family and friends, and look to what lies ahead. This is also a time when I say thank you to all who have supported AIIM, our many programs, and have taken time to read this blog and my musings about life and our industry for it is you who make this all possible.
Until 2010, we wish you the best in this Holiday Season.
Sincerely,
