One access point to all relevant information and services?
Tony Byrne from CMS Watch has a story about the UK government CIO’s new plan to collapse more than 551 government websites down to 26 in latest blog post. This is good news for many of us, and I expect to see similar targets from other countries in the years ahead. Too many e-Government targets have so far been about getting information online, but without linking relevant information.
The Norwegian government is one step ahead of the UK, and each Norwegian citizen now has his/her own customized public service web portal called Mypage. The personal portal offers a dialogue with public authorities and makes it easier to find the services each individual might be looking for, without having any prior knowledge of which municipal or government office is responsible. At Mypage, the user may take advantage of different public services like, for instance, changing one's public service doctor, reporting a new home address, changing one's tax deduction card, ordering a health insurance card or applying for a fixed interest on one's student loan.
Would it not be nice to have a similar "one stop shop" for your suppliers, partners and customers?
